To say I had become totally immersed in The Who and Pete Townshend would simply be stretching the truth! HAHAHA Saratoga and Who's Next led me on a path that I followed faithfully for the next coupla 2,3 years or 28. Whatever. WOW! THE WHO! I was hanging on to them tho eternity beckoned! (At times, common sense told me not to continue...) HA I was still working for the city and having a grand time. 20 years old and thoughts as bold... That fall of 1972, Pete Townshend released his first solo record, WHO CAME FIRST. An emotional and spiritual depth became more obvious to me besides the fact that the tunes were down right INCREDIBLE! Dedicated to Meher Baba. Guy never said a word again for the rest of his life! Hmmm, not an easy thing to do. DON"T WORRY BE HAPPY Could be a Gooch mantra. Pure and Easy

After this page, we will put Who stuff in its' own place so as not to bore those non-Who'ers reading this drivel. Umm, you are reading it, eh? Oh well.

Hey! I could finally vote for a president! How about good old Richard Milhouse Nixon! He got my tally Nov. of '72. Oh well, maybe some other millenia.

So ya think 21 is gonna be a good year

Yep! You know it! A new year and not for nothing a WHO YEAR!I am kinda moving right along cause I can't think of anything overly memorable before THE NEXT BIG THING......BUT.....wouldn't ya know it.....( did I say that recently?) ((do we care!)) I remember lying in bed one Nov. morning about 6am and I had turned on the radio; wow, i didn't know what was playing but I knew WHO. What a mind-boggling piece of music emanating from those tinny speakers. I sat there unmoving for 10 minutes as The Rock melded into Love Reign O'er Me.... and did a Meher Baba...many moments of silence! My ears did not deceive me(those big old things) 'cause this was the only thing that mattered in '73! QUADROPHENIA Whatta ya think, Ed Ved? Was there any way Townshend could do this again! That gee-tar playing that, 28 years later, is so fresh and defining with an edge to dare challenge him to ever possibly top it! SHEESH Took me thru the winter of '73-'74 and deposited me somewhere else. Gooch Who! This is where it all began. I was so Who'ed I hadda go out and recruit legions to the glory of this band. Well a coupla 2,3 anyway! Yeah right. The year is 1974 and it was one of those years that defies description. A pivotable year in the Life and Times of Gooch! OK We don't want to admit it here, BUT, Hey McCoy! Dec. '73 at the good old Aud....Alice Cooper!!!! Billion Dollar Baby Tour! It was pretty good. I enjoyed it but it was the beginning of the end 'cause Alice was too inta being a comedian. I mean rock'n'roll is serious business!! Oh well
